This time, it was hell! From the start we had no extra beds for my kids eventhough this was agreed in advanced by and paid for, the hotel staff kept stating that it is fault and that it is hotel policy to pay extra for beds ( and we are taking about more than £100 per night per child!).

I have already paid a lot of money for the family room reservation (£3700 for five nights! Much more than if I booked a whole suit in Pullman for instance) but wanted Marwa Rayhan as we had nice memories 13 years ago when my wife was pregnant. This time, it seems that the hotel is in decline. The first one was 13 years ago and we enjoyed it at that time and that’s why we came back again for our planned Umrah. When guests step outside Al Marwa Rayhaan by Rotana they can explore all that Abraj Al Bait complex offers, from shops to cafés and a large commercial centre. Al Shorfa restaurant, is the place to enjoy à la carte cuisine on the 11th-floor terrace in full view of the Holy Kaaba, while our all-day dining outlets spoil guests for choice with their wide range of tempting international cuisine. The spiritual journey continues inside our four unique dining venues, where most of them also overlook Al Haram Shareef. The hotel’s 503 rooms and suites have been designed and furnished with the values and tastes of the modern Arabian culture in mind and many offer guests unique and uplifting views of Makkah’s most important holy site.

Our brand name, Rayhaan, refers to an aromatic plant mentioned in the Holy Quran and reflects how our style of hospitality respects the culture and beliefs of our guests. With an enviable location at the front of Abraj Al Bait complex and overlooking Al Masjid Al Haram and the Holy Kaaba, the five-star Al Marwa Rayhaan by Rotana offers guests both comfort and convenience and is an ideal base for visiting pilgrims.
